The Cabinet also directed that senior staff at Iraq’s Independent Electoral Commission may not travel abroad without the prior consent of the Prime Minister.

The Cabinet voted to refer the ministerial report on electoral  violations to Parliament, the Public Prosecution Office and the Integrity Commission.

The Cabinet also discussed several other developments and reviewed a number of projects and draft laws.

The Cabinet voted to authorise the launch of the fourth licensing round for mobile phone companies.

The Cabinet approved the strategic framework for the development of Iraq’s information and technology sector.

The Cabinet agreed amendments to be submitted to Parliament to strengthen current legislation to speed up the return of Iraq’s money smuggled abroad.
