    Cabinet directs federal agencies to mobilise support for areas affected by flooding


    The Cabinet held its weekly regular meeting in Baghdad on Tuesday under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Adil Abd Al-Mahdi.

    The Cabinet received briefing on recovery operations in areas affected by the recent flash flooding from the emergency response unit which is coordinating the delivery of aid and support to affected communities.

    The Cabinet also discussed measures to ensure the rapid payment of compensation to households and businesses affected by the floods, and reviewed long-term plans for flood recovery and resilience.

    The Cabinet discussed political developments, and efforts to complete the formation of the new Iraqi government.

    The Cabinet reviewed the draft legislative agenda to implement the programme of the new Iraqi government for 2018-2022.

    The Cabinet voted to declare the 10th of December 2018 an official public holiday in Iraq to commemorate the first anniversary of the declaration of victory against Daesh and the liberation of all Iraqi territories.
