    Cabinet discusses formation of Federal Public Service Council


    The Cabinet held its regular weekly meeting in Baghdad on Tuesday under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Adil Abd Al-Mahdi.

    The Cabinet approved measures and funding to support the construction of low-cost housing units.

    The Cabinet discussed the formation of the Federal Public Service Council, as mandated by the Constitution, to regulate the affairs of the federal public service, including appointments and promotions.

    The Cabinet agreed to submit to Parliament the names of 11 candidates, who met legal and other requirements, for membership of the Federal Public Service Council.

    The Cabinet approved the allocation 5 billion Iraqi dinars to the Ministry of Interior –  Border Command from the 2019 contingency reserve to complete the integrated security system north of the Euphrates between Qaim and Rabia border crossings with Syria.

    The Cabinet authorised the payment of  3  billion Iraqi dinars from the contingency reserve to Karbala Province to support local authorities there with operational costs associated with the Arbaeen Pilgrimage.
