Iraq’s National Investment Commission (NIC) will showcase 157 projects ready for investment at the International Conference for Reconstruction of Iraq which opens in Kuwait today.
The projects include rebuilding destroyed facilities like Mosul’s airport, developing the agricultural sector, rebuilding homes, hospitals, schools, roads, and modernising Iraq’s telecommunications network.
“Iraq is open for business, investment and rebuilding” says NIC head, Sami Al-Araji.
Nearly 2000 delegates have registered to attend the conference, representing foreign governments, private sector companies and international organisations.
The conference is co-chaired by Kuwait, Iraq, the United Nations, the European Union and the World Bank.
